Oral presentation skills are practiced and refined so you feel confident speaking in front of others. Public Speaking Literature Authors' Wax Museum Middle School readers progress from short stories and thought-provoking Young Adult literature like Hoot by Carl Hiassen and e Giver by Lois Lowry to classic novels such as e Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton; Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck; To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee; and Animal Farm, by George Orwell. Eighth graders choose an author to research in depth. ey design an exhibit and share their knowledge with parents and other students by bringing their author to life. Grammar is reinforced through writing exercises, with attention to proofreading and editing skills.
