Students in fifth through eighth grade learn Spanish through immersion experiences to
strengthen speaking proficiency and cultural appreciation. As a Middle School Spanish
student, you focus on the four key areas of foreign language study: listening, speaking,
reading, and writing.
YOU will learn
SPANISH
language and
culture from
native Spanish
speakers.
In fifth and sixth grades, Spanish meets three times a week for 45 minutes. You
will be exposed to the language in a variety of ways that trigger linguistic growth and
maximize language skills. You will read and write in Spanish, and practice speaking
through oral presentations, story writing, dynamic performances, and dynamic
collaborations with the school´s art program.
Seventh and eighth graders meet four times a week for 45 minutes. In addition
to continued grammar and vocabulary lessons, you will learn through collaborative art
projects, filming of original videos, and interdisciplinary activities. You will also
participate in discussions of major world issues and oral exams.
