Our science laboratory and classroom includes: SMARTboard, weather station, lab stations with sinks, trout in the classroom tank, microscopes, collections of rock and mineral samples, two large whale bone fossils discovered at Calvert Cliffs, two life-size skeleton models, a Van de Graaff generator, and a 3-D printer. Chemistry, physics, and behavioral hypotheses are tested and presented at the Seventh Grade Science Fair, judged by local representatives from the scientific community. Participation in the Science Fair is a graduation requirement for all Barnesville students. We teach and model environmentally responsible practices and emphasize experiential learning through direct interaction with local resources. Barnesville is also registered as a National Wildlife Federation Eco-School.
