learning environment for the development of
excellence in each of us.
History
The Barnesville School has successfully operated as an
independent day school for more than 40 years. Today,
the School offers an outstanding preschool through
eighth grade education where students learn in small
classroom settings. The mission of joy, support and
excellence is delivered through authentic learning
experiences, guided by a dedicated faculty who provide
individual attention as each child strives to reach his or
her true potential. Barnesville is accredited with the
Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS)
and in 2011 was designated a Certified Green School
by the Maryland Association for Environmental and
Outdoor Education.
