Barnesville School Magazine Class Notes '92 '94 '98 '99 '05 Meagan Mackintosh Sexton '92 lives in Richmond, VA. She is married to her husband, Scott Sexton, and is at home raising her daughter, Carter (4), and son, Landon (2). Meagan worked for the Discovery Channel and Baby-Jogger Strollers before becoming a full-time mom. Andrew Stewart Alcorn, IV '94 has been married for nine years and has three children: Drew (11), MacKenzie (7), and Addison (2.) He has been a police officer with the city of Frederick since 2007. Alison Gannon (Brown) '98 graduated from the University of Delaware in 2006. She worked on Capitol Hill for a year before attending graduate school at Texas Tech University, where she graduated with an MS in Food Microbiology in 2009. She married Eric Gannon (TTU '08) in 2010 and lived in South Texas and New Orleans before moving back to Maryland in 2012. They recently bought a property outside of Urbana and have been fixing it up. In Memorium Elizabeth Hey '99 writes, "Hello Barnesville Family! I miss you!" She was happily married on October 10, 2009, on the beach, and after two unsuccessful pregnancies, finally welcomed a beautiful baby boy on February 9, 2013. She has held positions as a Mental Health Counselor, Support Specialist for individuals with disabilities, Substance Abuse Counselor and Inventory Manager for a high-end jewelry store. Now she is "a doting Mommy and loving every minute!" Meredith Langstaff '99 is pursuing a PhD in Geophysics at Harvard University. '01 '02 Sarah Maderia (Beinkowski) '01 and her husband welcomed a baby girl named Jolene on December 2, 2013. Lauren Brown '02 is currently working at the Make-a-Wish Foundation of South Carolina as a Wish Coordinator. She is also working toward her Master's in Public Administration with a Nonprofit Management Certificate. She writes, "I LOVE Charleston!" 7 In 2012, Our Lady of Good Counsel High School honored late Barnesville School alumnus, Justin Thornton '05, by establishing The Justin Thornton Award. This award is given to a senior student who exemplifies the values of Good Counsel and Justin Thornton. At the time of his death, Justin, who aspired to be a pediatrician, was to be a freshman at Penn State University. He wanted "to make cancer treatment better for children like me" and had hoped to find a cure. Justin passed away in 2011 from complications after a battle with leukemia. His sister, Allyssa, will graduate from Barnesville this spring.
