DEAR BARNESVILLE COMMUNITY, I continue to be inspired by this community's dedication to our mission of Joy, Support, and Excellence. It is because of the generous contributions of time, talent, and treasure from parents, grand- parents, alumni, faculty, and friends that we are able to attract and retain the best educators, provide strong academic programs, and offer engaging student activities. It is this outstanding faculty that continues to demonstrate its com- mitment with 100% participation in the Barnesville School Fund for the eighteenth consecutive year. is annual fund directly supports our operating budget and impacts the lives of our students each and every day. I am so very grateful for those who continue to make Barnesville a priority in their lives and in their charitable giving. Your gifts make a significant impact on the depth and breadth of the Barnes- ville experience. It brings me great joy to watch our students grow intellectually, emotionally, and in confidence during their journey at Barnesville. LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL During our annual August In-Service, the faculty and staff engaged in an exercise to define the portrait of a Barnesville School graduate. I am proud to share our collective expectation of Barnesville graduates as students who are: • active and collaborative learners, willing to take risks to explore different concepts, issues, and ideas; • strong communicators, well-practiced in writing, participating in classroom discussions, and speaking in front of audiences of their peers as well as adults; • creative, having worked with a wide variety of media to present learned concepts in projects, artwork, and perfor- mances; • stewards of the environment, keenly aware of the natural world and their impact on it; • kind, empathetic, and curious citizens who value cultural diversity and appreciate differences in others; • confident individuals who have had myriad leadership opportunities -- in and outside the classroom -- to develop a strong sense of who they are and who they want to become. anks to the generosity and support of this community, our graduates are well prepared for the challenges ahead. ank you for your partnership, generosity, and dedication to the Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences. With immense gratitude, Susanne Johnson Head of School
