YOU will EXPLORE how
subjects relate to one
another, making
CONNECTIONS that
spark further INQUIRY and
deepen your understanding.
While many schools are limiting the scope of their academic programs, Barnesville
creates opportunities for students to dabble, explore, and connect with the many
exciting resources available across the greater D.C. region. Ongoing collaborations
with Black Hill Regional Park, BlackRock Center for the Arts, Calleva Outdoor
School, and non-profit service organizations further extend the breadth of "real
world" curriculum. Our campus in the Agricultural Reserve provides opportunity
to explore nature in our own "backyard" as well as on neighbors' farms.
Field
Studies
Barnesville's Middle School provides a
challenging curriculum where critical
thinking, research, organizational skills,
writing, and public speaking are taught
across different subjects.
Field studies, project-driven learning,
and partnerships with local art, science,
and educational organizations bring to
life concepts shared in the classroom,
exposing our students to the real world
connections between the arts and the
sciences.
We incorporate the use and study of
technology in our curriculum, and make
extensive use of our natural campus
setting to support appreciation and
respect for the environment.
