Early testing, ongoing assessments, differentiated instruction and teacher observations all serve to provide optimal placement of students. We want to ensure students are fluid in the language of Algebra before progressing to Geometry, which is sometimes offered in eighth grade to qualified students. Differentiation Teachers may "flip" classwork and homework lessons. Providing video-based lessons for students review at home allows time in school to review, rewind, and absorb lessons so more class time can be devoted to one-on-one instruction, working through problems, and answering questions. Flipped Lessons Every March 14 (3.14), Barnesville Middle Schoolers celebrate Pi Day with interactive math activities and fun contests that highlight the role math plays in our everyday lives. Some students work to memorize as many digits of Pi as they can, while others show off their baking skills and bring in pies. Every year, we put a new twist on Pi Day — the possibilities are infinite! Pi Day
