At Arts & Academics Night, the entire Barnesville School community celebrated the tenure and accomplishments of outgoing Head of School, John Huber. After serving as Head of School for the past nine years, John is moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan to be Head of Emerson School, an independent school educating gifted and academically talented students in grades Kindergarten through eight. When John announced in April 2014 that he would be stepping down, Board Chair Jeff Dono- hoe commented, "John initiated and helped realize numerous programs that have heightened the environment of Joy, Support and Excellence at the Barnesville School of Arts and Sciences. We thank John for all of his wisdom, guidance and hard work on our behalf and wish him the best of luck in all future endeavors." Over the past several months, John has been preparing to transition his duties to Susanne Johnson who will serve as Interim Head of School, starting July 1, 2015. John's wife, Janine, and young- est son, Jack will be moving with him to Michigan. His eldest son, James (Barnesville Class of 2011) graduated from Poolesville High School's Global Ecology program and will be attending Universi- ty of Maryland this fall, where he'll be a part of the College Park Scholars Program, an interdis- ciplinary academic residential community for invited freshman and sophomores. Brian Huber (Barnesville Class of 2012) will be staying in the area to complete his senior year at St. Andrews Epis- copal High School. FAREWELL TO MR. HUBER "We thank John for all of his wisdom, guidance and hard work on our behalf and wish him the best of luck in all future endeavors."
