Summer 2014 15 BarnesvilleSchool.org/AlumniUpdates '08 Morgan Schmidt '08 completed her freshman year at McDaniel College this past spring. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Tau, writes frequently for McDaniel Free Press, cooks monthly for Heroes Helping Hopkins, and plays intramural volleyball. She plans on majoring in Communication with a focus in New Media Journalism and minoring in Spanish. is summer she will hopefully be interning in Baltimore as well as maintaining her handicap on the polo field. After graduating from Barnesville, Connor Worthington '08 went to Pooles- ville High School and graduated in 2012. He is currently a Biology major at Montgomery College and will transfer to pursue his doctorate degree in Phys- ical erapy. He writes, "My first two years at college were rough: my house burned down, and, as we began to rebuild, I was involved in a construction accident which resulted in half of my skull being removed. I kept my GPA above a 3.5 the whole time. I am healthy now!" Alex Tilley '04 '09 Alexander Collins '09 is studying Criminal Justice at Mount Saint Mary's University and plans on joining the police force after graduation. '10 Quentin Bubb '10 graduated from Georgetown Prep this spring and has accepted a baseball scholarship to at- tend Lafayette College in the fall. He will study Engineering. Eliana Maia-Goldstein '10 will be attending the University of Maryland in the fall. Prior to high school gradu- ation, she was admitted into the arts honor society at Bullis. Michael McMillen '10 will be attending Quinnipiac University in the fall, where he will major in Game Design. Nikki Prokopchak '10 will attend Hood College in the fall. During this past October, she was one of two stu- dents chosen to represent St. John's at the weekly Frederick Rotary Club luncheons, where she gave a speech. Grant Ross '10 graduated from Quince Orchard High School this spring and will attend the University of Dayton this fall, where he will study Mechanical Engineering. In high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society, Latin Honor Society, and Project Lead the Way (program for engineering), as well as a Signature AP Scholar. Alexander Williams '10 graduated from Gonzaga College High School, where he was the captain of the fenc- ing team, a member of the varsity football team, and editor, anchor, and producer of Gonzaga's TV broadcast, WZAG. He plans to pursue a Communications major with a focus on Marketing and Advertising when he arrives at Loyola University, Maryland in the fall.
