Summer 2013 Farewell, Mrs. Dyke Beloved teacher, mentor and friend Ceil Dyke retired at the close of the 2012-2013 school year after 20 years of teaching at the Barnesville School. Most recently teaching fourth grade, Mrs. Dyke joined Barnesville in 1988 as a first grade teacher. Through her years, which included a hiatus from 1994 to 2000, Mrs. Dyke also taught second and third grades. The entire school, joined by parents, past students and Mrs. Dyke's family, gathered in the gym on June 3 to celebrate her invaluable contributions to the School and her students, and wish her luck as she moves into the next phase of life. Head of School John Huber presented Mrs. Dyke with a commemorative Barnesville chair, the audience watched a video compilation of photos and clips of students sharing memories and then several speakers shared stories. Finally, Mrs. Dyke's fourth graders presented her with a memory book, she made a few remarks, and her past students lined up for hugs.
