Kupferberg Cup Award Elizabeth T. e Kupferberg Cup is awarded to a fourth grader selected by the faculty who displays great character and leadership potential. Annual awards were also presented to the following students: • Board of Directors Award, for outstanding writing of the eighth grade required research paper – Sophia F. and Grace B. • Jaralyn Hough Award, selected by fellow eighth grade students as a person of out- standing character – Jordan T. • Sue King History Award, for demonstrated passion and aptitude for history – Jack B. • ompson Butz Award, selected by the entire faculty and staff to recognize outstanding citizenship – Jordan T. FUTURE LEADERS Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences offers rising and new sixth grade students the opportunity to apply for this $1,000 merit-based scholarship that renews for seventh and eighth grade years as long as the student maintains their strong performance and good standing. e Cohen Scholarship Committee awards the scholar- ship based on standardized testing, school transcripts, and performance in the classroom. Candidates must also exemplify the School's mission of joy, support, and excel- lence, as demonstrated through teacher recommendations and student essays.e purpose of the Cohen Scholarship program is to honor Frieda Cohen (or "Grandma Frieda" as she was known to Barnesville School students) and her parents, Rose and David Cohen.
